“In my experience, we can get a lot of the people who will feature in our amends list from our Steps Four & Five.
But this Step gives us the opportunity to add anyone else who we think we have wronged to a list of relationships and mistakes that we want to put right.
This Step is all about becoming willing. I split my list into three or four groups:
- Those I’m willing to make amends to now.
- Those who I might be willing to make amends to at a later date.
- Those who I don’t want to make amends to.
- And finally, those who I own an amends to, but that it would cause more harm if I did.
I went through this list with my sponsor, and he helped me to work out who I should, could, and shouldn’t make direct amends to.”
