Step 6

“Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.”

DDA Members Share their Experience on Step 6:

“In Steps 4 & 5, I discovered that there were some good things in me, but there were also some things that I was going to have to work on in order to live and enjoy my life in my recovery.

I also discovered some elements to the way I tick that aren’t character defects but are symptoms of my mental health problems.

I realised that my liabilities could be worked on and that my strengths can be used more and grown upon.

This Step is a lifelong project, but it helps if I develop the right attitude and become willing to practice the opposite of all of my character liabilities one day at a time.”
