“By working all of DDA’s Twelve Steps +5, I have discovered a manner of living that is both exciting, rich and rewarding. Because of finding a fellowship purely designed for people with a dual diagnosis, I was able to start and develop my recovery. DDA’s final Step tells me that as long as I keep working my DDA recovery programme and continue to help others, I will have a bright future.
For me, helping others doesn’t just apply to helping other DDA members. Thanks to DDA, I have managed to tap and utilise a power that helped me to get well, and that can now be used in practically every area of my life.
By putting down the drink and drugs as a means of coping with my problems and then working all of DDA’s steps as thoroughly as I can, I have discovered that there are lots of ways in which I can give back to the people around me. I also believe this Step reminds me of what recovery is all about: connection, love, & service.”
